Jason Long
Jason Long is the 17U RED ELITE head coach and has been a member of the Utah Pump-N-Run coaching staff since 2004. Besides coaching the 17U RED ELITE teams, Coach Long also works heavily in developing the younger ranks of the Utah Pump-N-Run organizations as he currently coaches three 14U teams. Coach Long began his coaching career in 2000 as a student-assistant for the women’s program at Westminster College. Upon graduating from Westminster in 2004, Long then joined Tommy Connor’s staff as an assistant to the men’s basketball team at Westminster. During his time at Westminster, Coach Long helped the Griffins to 3 Frontier Conference Championships, 2 Frontier Conference Tournament Championships, 4 NAIA National Tournament appearances including an Elite 8 appearance in 2008-2009. During the 2008-2009 year, Westminster also attained a No. 1 National Ranking. After his 9 seasons coaching at the collegiate level, Coach Long decided to return to college to earn his Master’s Degree in Education. Coach Long will graduate in Fall 2010 with a Master’s in the Arts of Teaching with certification in Spanish and P.E. This past year, Coach Long was the Head Junior Varsity coach at Highland High School as the Rams reached the 4A state semifinals during his first year. |
