Ex-Clearfield star Nick Thompson of CEU signs with Oklahoma

Former Clearfield High star Nick Thompson, who spent his last two seasons at the College of Eastern Utah, has signed with Oklahoma.

Thompson averaged 8.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists last season and helped CEU to a third-place finish at the national junior college tournament in Hutchinson, Kan., last month.

The 6-foot-9, 210-pound forward shot 38 percent from three-point range for the Golden Eagles.

Thompson grew up in Oklahoma before his family moved to Clinton, Utah, prior to his entrance into high school.

As a freshman in 2008-09, Thompson averaged 7.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 15.5 minutes a game for 25-7 CEU.
