Utah Pump-N-Run, 08-26-2011
Loveridge, Ranked #12 on the 2012 ESPNU Top 50 List of West Recruits and Utah’s Top 2012 Basketball Prospect, Will Commit During the Early Signing Period to Play at University of Utah for Coach Larry Krystkowiak.
“When it came down to it, choosing the University of Utah just felt like the right fit for me”, said Loveridge. “I’m looking forward to helping Coach K and his staff reinstate the winning team tradition that Utah basketball fans expect.” Last week, Loveridge narrowed the list of schools he was considering down to four, including Arizona, BYU, Weber State and Utah. Loveridge continues, “I wanted to make a final decision early on, before the start of the high school basketball season, so I could focus all of my attention on helping Coach Briggs and my teammates at West Jordan high school prepare for the season.” Loveridge is a proven double-double man with exceptional hands, long arms and a strong frame that makes him a difficult match up at either the 3 or 4 positions. As a junior at West Jordan high school, Loveridge averaged 23.5 points and 10.4 rebounds per game and led his team to a 19-4 season record. He is also an Honor Roll student maintaining a 3.7 GPA. Scott Briggs, head coach at West Jordan high school, noted, “Jordan deserves every bit of the attention and accolades he’s received. His exceptional work ethic and positive attitude have resulted in great success both personally and for our team.” Throughout the spring and summer traveling basketball season with the Utah Pump-N-Run Elite 17U team, Loveridge dominated opponents in front of numerous D-1 scouts. He averaged a double-double throughout the season and led Utah Pump-N-Run to the Final 4 at the adidas super 64, one of the country’s premier basketball tournaments. With Loveridge playing his best ball, Utah Pump-N-Run finished the summer with a 12-2 record. “Jordan proved that he can play with anyone in the country this past summer”, said Todd Phillips, Salt Lake Community College head men’s basketball coach and Utah Pump-N-Run Elite 17U head coach. “He is a great kid and an extremely talented basketball player. I’m sure the University of Utah is proud to have him.” West Jordan high school kicks off their season on November 22, 7:00 p.m. at Herriman high school.
