17U RED ELITE, Utah Pump-N-Run’s flagship team comprised of basketball players from various high schools in Utah, completed play with a 4-2 record at the Double Pump Spring Tournament in Denver, CO this past weekend. After advancing to the quarterfinal round of six teams in the highest bracket, the team lost by two points in a back-and-forth battle to eventual tournament champion Kansas City Pump-N-Run after more than 7 lead changes throughout the game. Earlier in competition, 17U RED beat NorCal Pharaohs, Arizona Magic Pump-N-Run, St. Louis Game Face and Danny Granger Elite.

17U RED players in Denver include Sam Orchard (Highland), Mike Brown (Wasatch), Blake Wilkinson (Viewmont), Austin Bankowski (Woods Cross), Matt Sumsion (Springville), Nate Fakahafua (Highland), Zach Stanley (Lehi) and Austin Hudson (Brighton). Will Walker (Lehi) also joined the team as an unsigned senior for the Denver tournament. Jason Long and Dave Thompson coach the team.

17U RED is preparing for competition next weekend at the Double Pump Spring Classic in Las Vegas.

After a slow start on Friday, Utah Pump-N-Run’s 15U RED team advanced past Danny Granger 15s and Colorado Hawks to the Elite 8, but then fell to Kansas City Pump-N-Run 15s to finish tournament play. Stephan Holm (Riverton) led the team in scoring and steals, Zach Hunsaker (Woods Cross) led the team in assists, Jacek Hacking (Skyline) led the team in rebounding and Dayon Goodman (Alta) led the team in blocks. Other team members include David Divver (Highland), Dallin Bosco (Provo), Todd Connolly (Highland), Bryce Stone (Riverton), and Jared Stutzman (Bonneville, Idaho Falls). Eric Johnson and Aton Sykes coach the team.

15U RED will compete next weekend in the Double Pump Spring Classic in Las Vegas.

16U RED did not play in Denver.
