Utah Pump-N-Run, 07-09-2011

Utah Pump-N-Run made its mark in college basketball last year, with six former Utah Pump-N-Run players – Charles Abouo, Chris Collinsworth, Kyle Collinsworth, Brandon Davies, Logan Magnusson, and Nick Martineau – joining the BYU basketball team for its most successful season to date. This year’s group of Utah Pump-N-Run alumni is set to continue the trend, with several players signed to college teams and several weighing offers from multiple schools.

  • Mike Brown (Wasatch) has signed with Weber State
  • Sam Orchard (Highland) has signed with Utah State
  • Blake Wilkinson (Viewmont) has signed with the University of Utah
  • Ryan Van Pelt (Timpanogos) has signed with Weber State
  • Morgan Hesleph (Juan Diego) has signed with Salt Lake Community College
  • Zach Stanley (Lehi) has signed with Northwest College in Wyoming
  • Tanner LeBaron (Timpanogos) has signed with Western Wyoming Community College
  • Austin Hudson (Brighton) has signed with Central Arizona

The only player from 2011 that will not attend college next year is Lew Evans (Highland), who signed with New Hampton Prep School in New Hampshire, where he will further his basketball skills before moving on to the next level.

Basketball isn’t the only sport that Utah Pump-N-Run alumni excel at. Nate Fakahafua (Highland) will play football for the University of Utah, Austin Bankowski (Woods Cross) will play baseball for the Salt Lake Community College and Matt Sumsion (Springville) will play football for BYU.

The 2012 Utah Pump-N-Run team is also gearing up to make an impact on college basketball for year’s to come with Marcel Davis (American Fork), Quincey Bair (American Fork) and Casey Oliverson (Sky View) all committing early to Utah State. Jordan Loveridge (West Jordan) has offers from the University of Utah, BYU, Colorado State and Utah State, and is garnering interest from multiple other schools because of solid spring and early summer play. Jordan Pryor (West Jordan), Isaiah Tademy (Granger) and Jaden Jackson (West Jordan) are also weighing potential playing opportunities from several schools. Since its first graduating class of 2004, Utah Pump-N-Run has helped over 70 players make the transition to collegiate scholar-athlete.
